An Australian-owned call centre company hopes to create 200 new jobs in Wellington after choosing to base its New Zealand operation in the capital.
Contact Centres New Zealand Ltd, an offshoot of Contact Centres Australia (CCA), will open their centre in the city’s central business this month and is looking at employing 100 by July and doubling that within two years.
The announcement is being welcomed by Wellington Employers’ Chamber of Commerce chief executive Raewyn Bleakley who says it follows hard on the heels of Ericcson’s $15 million commitment to a new cable ducting factory in Porirua.
“This is a further reflection of the region’s ability to attract new and exciting businesses and that we have a lot to offer down here,” she said.
CCA employs 550 in Sydney and its clients include Colgate, Kellogg’s and City of Sydney.
