New Zealand contact-centre specialist Zeacom has been snapped up by Canadian software company Enghouse Systems for US$30.6 million (NZ$40.5m).
Based in Auckland, Zeacom sells contact centre and business process software products to over 4000 customer sites worldwide.
It was established in 1994 by Kiwi Miles Valentine and now employs more than 180 people in offices here, North America, Northern Europe and Asia Pacific.
Zeacom’s annual revenue for 2012 was approximately $38 million.

Chairman and CEO of Enghouse, Stephen Sadler, said the company was excited about the acquisition.
“Zeacom presents us with a great opportunity to address the SMB space more effectively, extend our reach into new geographies and further position Enghouse to meet the evolving needs of our current and future customers.”
The Zeacom Contact Center product is a full multi-media product offering a cloud, hosted or on-premise solution.
Valentine, CEO of Zeacom, said his company had found “the perfect partner” to take advantage of the market opportunities.
“We are very pleased to be joining Enghouse – a well established, global provider of management interaction solutions,” he said.
